The Willcox West Fest began as a tribute to the cowboy way of life, rooted in the history of Willcox, a city that once shipped more cattle directly from the range than anywhere else in the nation. Since its inception, the event has grown into a beloved tradition, drawing visitors from across the Southwest to experience authentic 1880s-style chuck wagon cooking, thrilling rodeo action, and the camaraderie of the Old West. Each year, chuck wagon teams showcase their culinary skills with mouthwatering recipes, while local ranchers compete in rodeo events that highlight the real skills used in daily ranch work.
A rootin’-tootin’ good time! Savor slow-cooked meals straight from historic chuck wagons, watch cowboys and cowgirls compete in the ranch rodeo, and explore a variety of western vendors offering unique crafts and merchandise. Enjoy live country music, storytelling, cowboy church, and family-friendly activities like pony rides, wagon rides, and dummy roping for kids. From gunfight reenactments to blacksmithing demonstrations, there’s something for everyone to experience the Wild West.
