- First, seal the floor with a sturdy top coat to seal it. An unsealed concrete floor will absorb food stains and is susceptible to fading and absorbing water, which can discolor the surface.
- If your concrete floor is indoors, wax it every six months to protect high-traffic areas from the wear and tear that goes with being walked on, and once a year in less-traveled areas. Wax also fills in small scratches.
- Do not wax an outdoor floor. The sun will burn off the wax.
- Reseal your outdoor floor every one to two years.
