Most people stick with what manufacturers call the “basic 8.” That includes:
- Two towel racks—18 inch and 24 inch
- Toilet paper holder
- Towel ring
- Soap dish
- Toothbrush tumbler
- Glass holder (might be combined with the toothbrush holder)
- Robe hook
- Shelf
You can buy them separately or as a “suite,” which allows you to skip the toothbrush holder if everybody in your family uses an electric toothbrush, and to perfectly coordinate each accessory so it matches all of the others.
Some manufacturers are adding extras to their suites. Consider sprucing up the bathroom with some of these coordinating accessories:
- Toilet wand holder
- Toilet tank lever
- Trash can
- Candle holder
- Tissue holder
If you really want to make a fashion statement in the bathroom, go one step further, and add these items, but make sure they match your faucet and accessories when it comes to color and sheen. You might have to find them separately at a hardware or home store:
- Door hinges
- Cabinet door handles and drawer pulls
- Door knob or lever
- Mirror frame
