Habitat for Humanity is an international nonprofit agency based on Christian principles that strives to eliminate poverty housing.
They have constructed over 400 homes in the greater Phoenix area - building entire subdivisions as well as infill housing in existing communities.
Homes are built based on a partnership between a family and the community. Habitat homes are built with volunteer labor and funded by local donors.
A qualifying family pays for their home through "sweat equity hours" and a zero-interest mortgage loan. Volunteers work alongside the family throughout most phases of the home's construction. A Habitat homeowner must fall between 30% and 60% of the median income, have a need for housing, good credit and stable income.
Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona is a qualifying agency for the Arizona State Tax Credit ARS43-1088. Cash donations could qualify for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. Visit the Arizona State Revenue office or your tax accountant to learn if you qualify for this state tax credit.
Habitat for Humanity of Central Arizona is a registered 501 (c)(3) organization, all donations are tax deductible.
