Jay from Harper’s Nursery & Landscaping Company is here to take your questions!

Tip of the Week: Jay describes caring for a Poinsettia or Christmas Cactus. Remember, they are a tropical plants and think of that while you care for it.

  • We discuss Christams Tree Care and what to look for and how to keep it looking great through the whole Christmas season.
  • Choosing the right variety of tree and if you have a pool, should you soak it overnight?
  • Have you considered a Potted Christams Tree? We share tips on caring for them.

  • Jerry – He was out of town and wants to know if it’s too late to re-seed his lawn?

Recommendation – No. It should be fine, but it will grow much slower and he might need to consider a cover to help it germinate. Dont get it too wet, though.

*Watering tips for this time of year.

Remember you can find great contractors in our “Casa Grande Connection”

  • Kay – She noticed mud tubes (termites) while getting rid of a popcorn ceiling. Is this the time to “get aggressive” with eliminating them?

Recommendation – Yes. This year has been extremely active for termites so fixing it now is big. She can call Blue Sky Pest Control or Action Termite Control in her area.

  • Rosie talks about what it takes to be “Rosie Certified” & How you can use our website for projects at your home.

  • Tom – His water line to his house and to his irrigation are on the same water line. Can he seperate the two and how big of a job is it? He wants to shut off the house water when he goes back to Wisconsin in the summer.

Recommendaion – Rosie thinks his house already has this but the shutoff valve is in the wrong place. He walks him where to investigate and look for it. He can just add a shutoff line. Call Stampede PlumbingBabcock Plumbing or Walker Plumbing in his area.

  • Bruce – One of the electric lines in his home went dead and he’s done a lot of work to fix it, but doesn’t want to start tearing into the drywall to solve it.

Recommendation – Rosie is impressed with how he investigated the electrical lines. (Not Rosie recommended, but very clever) Listen for Rosie’s description on figuring this out. If he needs help, he can call The Solar Store.

*Remember that electrical work should be left to the experts!
