We’re live from the Jersey Lilly Saloon at the official Christmas city in Arizona, Prescott!
Fred Veil with the Sharlot Hall Museum joins the crew!
More about the Sharlot Hall Museum:
Rosie and Jennifer stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott and loved it! Remember, you can also stay at one of our great Staycation partners too, the Springhill Suites by Marriott.
We hope you take some time to visit the Sharlot Hall Museum!
Jay from Harper’s Nursery & Landscaping Company joins us to take your outdoor living questions!
Callers:
Recommendation – It is still around and used some. He can seed it or buy flats of it and put it together in plugs. We aren’t sure it’s good for use with dogs and high traffic areas. Jay is concerned it might not be the perfect application. He could consider artificial turf.
Recommendation – Rosie would NOT be concerned with the layout he described.
Letter From a Listener:
Recommendation – Jay would just bring them in the house and place them somewhere in the sun and they’ll ripen up quicker than if they were left out in the cooler nights.
Romey thanks Bolt Internet for setting up our internet connection for today’s broadcast!
Text From a Listener:
Recommedation – Off the wall is best. Even if it’s bolted to the wall, it has 3 to 4 inches of clearance for vines to grow. Jay walks through the layout & the different options they have at Harper’s Nursery.
*We talk about a few options for his situation too.
Caller:
Recommendation – Jay talks about getting rid of the lawn 1st with a few different options. (Bermuda lawns are very tough to kill) Listen as he talks about the different barriers he can use to eliminate the chance it takes over his garden.
Callers:
Recommendation – Jay talks through a couple of resources and gives his tips. Irrigation would be the 1st step. Watering by hand is too much work. Listen for tips on soil, seed or turf preferences and what to plant.
*Dealing with your lawn and what to do with kids/dogs/grandkids.
Recommendation – The only way to get rid of mistletoe is by pruning it out. It’s a parasite and needs to be removed. Unfortunately, there is no easy solution.
Stop in at Harper’s Nursery & Landscaping in Scottsdale!
Prescott Mayor, Larry Overland, joins us to talk about their big weekend!
We thank Bolt Internet for our connection to Prescott!
Caller:
Recommendation – His home is newer and he should have a GFCI and shouldn’t need it wrapped. If he wants more peace of mind, he can wrap it with plastic and seal it that way. (As a general rule, you should only string 3 sections together on one outlet)
Rosie talks about Sanderson Ford and their Operation Santa Claus event!
More with Joe Baynes about the trail systems around Prescott:
Sign up for the Sanderson Ford Arizona Staycation here!!!
Our host for the weekend, Tommy Meridith, owner of the Jersey Lilly Saloon stops by!
This week’s blog talks about working/maintaining a manufactured home.
More with Steve on his manufactured home trying to “Bring Mom Home.”
Continuing with Manufactured Homes:
Rosie welcomes a listener, Bart Brush from Prescott.
We thank Bolt Internet for the connection to the broadcast!
Text From a Listener:
Caller:
Recommendation – Since it’s only a 1/16th of a inch, he can leave it alone. Keep an eye on it and unless it gets bigger, you can leave it alone.
*Rosie thanks our lodging partners, the Residence Inn by Marriott & Springhill Suites by Marriott, for the great weekend hospitality.
Join Rosie On The House every Saturday Morning!!!
