Boyce Thompson Arboretum

COMMENTARY

• Founded by Col. William Boyce Thompson.  Enamored with the landscape around Superior, AZ.  Built his winter home the Picket Post House overlooking Queen Creek.
• Designed to preserve a massive collection of desert and other plants from around the world
• First plant he brought in and planted was a eucalyptus tree that stands today
• Celebrating 100 years in October 2023
• Great for bird watching
