COMMENTARY

• Almost year around gardening.  Planting in the right season:

*  September/October:  Brassicas (Examples broccoli, cauliflower)

*  November:  Lettuce and other delicate greens

*  February:  ‘Salsa Season’! Tomatoes, peppers, eggplants

*  March-April:  Vining crops like zucchini, squash, melons.  Good way to shade the ground.

• Advantage of starting small by planting herbs in containers.  Expensive to buy in store, easy to grow!
