Outdoor Living Topic: #SubtropicalPlants | Subtropical may not be the first word that comes to mind when thinking about Arizona. Plants in Arizona thrive in the state’s diverse climate, which ranges from desert to subtropical regions. These plants, such as citrus trees, palms, and certain cacti species like the Saguaro, are well-suited to Arizona’s warm temperatures and moderate winters. We often see these plants being used to add variety to the landscape, particularly in urban areas where they’re often cultivated for their ornamental value. Despite the arid conditions in many parts of our state, careful selection and cultivation techniques allow subtropical plants to flourish, contributing to the unique and vibrant ecosystem of Arizona.
