Greg Peterson of The Urban Farm gives you lots of tips to get your garden ready to grow.

Best time to plant a tree:  Years ago or today!

Need a plan to starting a garden.  Spend time observing the space where you’re planning a garden.  Sun, shade, water runoff.   Permaculture.

First thing to consider:  where the sun is at during the year.

Identify your Microclimates:  a zone where the climate is different from the surrounding area.  Could be small for a garden bed or large.

On the west side of your garden, plant shade.  Benefits cooling your house.
