If you are looking for a way to try and control crickets without using chemicals or insecticides, it’s pretty easy to build a cricket trap with a glass jar, molasses and water.

• Mix the water and molasses and pour some of the mixture into the jar. 
• Place the jar near the spot where you have seen crickets or heard them chirping.
• The crickets will crawl in and drown.
• Dispose of the dead crickets often.
