If you suspect your house has mold, carbon monoxide or any unhealthy problem in the air, consider hiring a company that specializes in diagnosing air quality issues.
The company will bring in equipment and conduct an indoor air quality “audit.” An investigator will locate the source of bad smells and contaminated air that could be causing headaches and other ailments-and recommend ways to stop the problem, clean the air and prevent future trouble.
The contractor might recommend mechanical air-cleaning equipment. But sometimes, you’ll learn, you just need to open a window and move your gas can away from the air vents.
