Changes in seasons also bring changes in the orientation of the sun. This can cause an issue for your garage door’s sensor and eye beam in allowing the door to operate properly. The sun light interferes with the light beam between the safety sensors that control the safe operation of the door. The good news is that it’s an easy fix…and cheap! Next time you run out of toilet paper, save the empty cardboard roll. Secure the roll over the eye beam on your garage door safety sensor, to give it a more direct line of sight to the adjacent receptor on the other side of the door. You should have no problem getting your door to cooperate once you’ve blocked the sun from interupting the beam of light between the sensors.
