Late summer and early fall are prime times for Root Rot. When the tree starts losing its leaves and looks droopy, brown and is wilting, that is a good sign that rot is starting to occur. Watch your watering. Root rot is a result of too much moisture, a lack of oxygen in the soil or poorly drained soils. Use gypsum or soil sulfur around it and improve drainage. Make sure to adjust watering schedules when there is a drastic change in temperature.
