Scientific: Myrtus communis “boetica”

Common: Twisted Myrtle

Form: Shrub or twisted tree

Seasonality: Evergreen

Size: 12 ft high by 12 ft wide

Leaves: Lance shaped, dark green, aromatic, whorled

Flowers: Star-like, in small white clusters usually on terminal branch portions

Fruit: Blueberry-like seed with hard center

Stems/Trunks: Interesting twisted form, mottled and gnarled; light tan

Range/Origin: SW Europe

Hardiness: USDA Zones 8-9

Comments: Low litter, No thorns

Cultural Requirements:

Exposure: Full or partial sun

Water: Regular

Soil: Amended, well drained

Propagation: Cuttings

Maintenance: Minimal; not suited for shearing
