This Sago palm is approximately 20 years old, and this year, it did this in the spring. When I pulled the center brown leaves apart, there were many orange balls inside. Any clue as to what’s going on? Has an Alien taken over my Sago?

EXPERT ANSWER
That is actually the fruit a female Sago Palm will produce once they are mature, generally 15 years or longer. For the remaing life of the Palm you will see the fruit every two – four years.
